i was considering implementing a squid proxy on my work network, Untangle is front end security, and i thought that using a squid proxy i could cut down on bandwidth but also have better monitoring of sites people are going to to stop any high bandwidth sites people seem to keep finding.

I was reading it also does FTP cache and other items so over all it could help cut back on bandwidth usage to keep our Inet bill down.

Any other significant reasons to implement a squid proxy + untangle to make a network... better?

Or any reasons not to?
