Exactly, I use CentOS in true production and Fedora for my dev work and really to host all my own web sites. That way, when it breaks (and it does rather frequently in comparison) I don't have angry customers yelling at me. Short of a cacti server at work, and I don't even know that I would call that production, I don't think that Fedora should really be used for a true production box.
SUSE, on the other hand, is another beast. One of our servers at work, our main billing system with a dual quad core Xeon and 16GB of RAM has been rock solid and as of last check, has been running for 390+ days, ever since it's been put in. Ever with Fedora, uptime on linux doesn't even come CLOSE to anything you will get with a M$ based operating system.
My firewall box here at home runs Endian, and I just rebooted it the other day and it had been up for some 90 days.
But you matter how you slice it, I'm just more comfortable with the RedHat line of things. I'm sure it's just what I was "raised" on and simply my preference. I'm sure that Debian is rock solid, and I have had many people tell me this, I'm just not comfortable with it as an OS, not like I am with the RedHat lines....
One of these days I will add to the mess on my dresser and throw in a Debian box to play around with. I think I have another semi-good box sitting in the basement....
