Default Banners from cell phones

i am wanting to block some ads that are on my droid cell phone, since using UT i have gotten so use to not seeing ads that i dont even like seeing them on the cell phone....so thanks UT you made me a snob to ADS....lol

but on the serious note, i would like to stop these ads from coming across my cell phone,

the cell phone uses my WIFI connection and i can see some traffic go thru UT but i dont see the AD that are displayed, how would i be able to stop this while keeping my cell phone on my wifi network and block the ads in the apps

HAH are you joking?

We're increasingly forced into a market where we get to pay for ads to get shoved in our faces.

I don't mind it when the product is freely available, but supported by ad revenue. But when Google and the like think it's ok to shove ads in your face after you spent $200 on a phone with a two year agreement? No thanks.

Rooting is pretty easy on most phones. What phone do you have?

i think there's a little confusion between google's apps (which have no ads as far as i can tell*) and 3rd party (free) apps that are supported by ads.

* i think the custom ROM i run may have one of those ad blockers baked in, so i'm not 100% sure google's apps don't have ads

I was referring to the ads I see in the marketplace.
