    Default 9.2 build5 available!

    9.2 has a new app called Application Control.
    Application Control is a new premium app that is an awesome tool to help identify and control traffic, protocols, and applications.
    You can think of it as a Protocol Control thats 100x more powerful. It uses advanced algorithms to dig deep into the data stream to determine what application and protocol the stream is. This can do anything like identifying basic protocols like SSH, HTTPS to more advanced web tools like google, gmail, facebook, even facebook games, to more advanced protocols like skype, ultrasurf, etc.

    For network adminstrators we think it will provide that perfect tool to detect and control the things that your users are doing that you don't want them doing.
    It also can allow you to put various security policies in place (like making sure certain ports are only used for certain protocols).
    To try out Application Control just install the premium package. You should get a 14-day trial license.

    Other changes:
    * http://wiki.untangle.com/index.php/9.2_Changelog
    * Protocol Control is now called "Application Control Lite" in theme with our recent renames.
    * WAN Failover also has a new implementation.
    * Reports are much faster and have some new features and layouts
    * Event logs flushing/exporting.
    * Youtube for Schools
    * Many bugfixes
    * more!

    Application Control will be a part of the premium package, so we're thrilled to announce that after 9.2 all of our current
    Premium Package subscribers will get Application Control at no additional cost!
    Thank you for supporting Untangle! (and thanks for technology partner for working with us to achieve this financially.)

    Give it a try!

    Enjoy!

    build4->build5 changes
    * more performance tweeks from large-site performance study
    * fix apache cert regeneration process
    * uses commas in CSV instead of semicolons
    * remove unused extjs4 files for smaller ISO

    This also means the new version will be rolled out soon.

    Upgrade from build 4 to build 5 went without a problem! Now just to re-run my bandwidth control wizard to get some of the new rules.

    Upgraded from 9.1 to 9.2 build 4 on Weds. Installed build 5 yesterday. When I came into the office this morning, my inbox was full of spam.

    Was unable to load the UT client from either my workstation or directly on the UT box. Checked Top and it showed that java was utilizing nearly all cpu. I tried restarting the uvm, but that failed. I ended up having to restart the box in order to restore proper functionality.

    I will contact support to have them take a look at the box and see if they can determine what went awry.

    Edit: Support case # is 34197.

    Just performed a upgrade.

    From:
    Build: 9.2.0~svn20120208r31087main-1lenny

    To:
    Build: 9.2.0~svn20120216r31181release9.2-1lenny

    All of my openvpn connections started backup just fine unlike the the previous upgrade (which was a u-verse 2wire router issue not a UT issue). So far everything looks ok. Thanks for a great product.

    Hopefully I will be rolling out a couple of new installs for some families at my son's school. They were at our house for a function not too long ago and saw how Untangle was blocking websites on their laptops and macbooks and never seen a device do this on a home network other then at their work places. Just need to sell them on the support module, maybe the webfilter module and of course hardware if they don't have any old pc's laying around.

    My installation is still at 9.1.1. Should 9.2 (any build) be available by now? Or do I need to do a re-install with a 9.2 build in order to upgrade?

    Upgrades are rolled out gradually. If you don't see the 9.2 upgrade yet you will soon.

    Is this image the same as the image deployed from the main download link on Untangle.com?
