I just had a user who was running Netshade (Proxy Anonymizer) get past our Untangle EDU Premium. We are a new set-up mostly with defaults. Some customs are going in.
Since Netshade uses a wide range of Proxies, how does one block it? Protocol? Address of proxy list host? Thanks! Gil Anspacher, Technology Coordinator Virgin Islands Montessori School & International Academy |

I set block and log for proxies in the web content filter. According to Netshade's FAQ page (http://www.raynersoftware.com/netshade/faq.php#f3) it provides a list of HTTP web proxies and connects the client to the proxy. If the user pays for a Netshade membership they are also able to utilize two HTTPS web proxies (one in US and one in UK). I have not had a problem using UT to block HTTP or HTTPS proxies so this might work for you. Let me know what you find.
