Currently in my untangle setup I have a nic that was not detected during the initial setup. (Linksys 10/100/1000 card. Model EG1032.) I'm assuming that sometime in a future release this piece of hardware will be supported. My question is, when untangle does come across a new piece of supported hardware how does it go about adding this new hardware? Is it fairly automated? Just curious, and it's nothing dire.

Thanks!

It is probably because it isn't supported in the current version of the kernel we are running. (2.6.15)

Over time, we move to newer kernels when we feel the need outweighs the risk.
In the future, the we will also probably make it such that the user can try different kernels if they want.

Could you post what kind of motherboard / nic you have? Thanks.

Spamming a forum that runs a blacklist means he ain't the sharpest tool in the shed... :)

But reading the post did get me thinking. How will an upgrade to 5.1 handle all of the systems with undetected nics on the motherboard? This could be a headache in the making if those nics were not disabled in the BIOS.
