I want Untangle to work with all scsi out the box and basically in general way more hardware. It seems currently it doesn't really work with that much stuff. I'd like it to work with raid 0 via sata raid 0 and scsi raid etc. Specially scsi adaptec cards and drives and work with more nics such as onboard nics.
We all know that 5.1 is right around the corner. Let's see what's available there. We're all painfully aware that we need more hardware compatibility.

Where can I find 5.1 info online? Features, etc.
thanks.
Nothing is publicly available yet, with the exception of commentary you may have read on the forums. We're all waiting to see!

I haven't read anything other then something about Ubuntu, except even Ubuntu 7.10 doesn't work on the pc my uncle gave me. It won't even install, just has the bar and that scrolling progress meter eventually freeze all the time.
Seems no linux works on the pc my uncle gave me. So I have serious doubts Untangle 5.1 will work on it now, :(

The developer build of Untangle 5.1 is now publicaly available as was reported by Dirk on Jan 5
*****************
The first publicly available developer build of thunderbird is now
available!
This is purely a developer build, and there are known and unknown bugs.
Do not use this on a production site, and do not use this if you
don't want to get your hands dirty.
Upgrades paths for dev builds are not guaranteed, so you will likely
have to upgrade them by hand or reinstall later.
That being said, we'd love your help testing it out!
Play it with. Explore the new networking implementation. Give us
feedback.
Try the new installer out that hardware that didn't previously work.
It has some really exciting stuff in it, and I'll be writing up a
changelog soon enough.
The iso is available here:

UNTANGLE-5.1.0_KNOPPIX-3.7_i386_nightly_2008-01-04T15:49:24-0800_qa-
build.iso
The md5sum is:
f60eb0c7b8e74e05dbf212654e4e0d34
Some known bugs:
- Remember, Router is gone! - this is because nat is now implemented
in config->networking.
- if anyone is anti-subscribing to FTP and using NAT then they must
run these commands as root: (it will never hurt to run them anyway)
modprobe nf_conntrack_ftp
modprobe nf_nat_ftp
- In the alpaca web interface do not click the help buttons, they
either do nothing or cause a save to occur
- PPPOE is untested.
- Alpaca web sessions launched from the uvm client may time out.
Launching another firefox by clicking networking in the uvm client
will fix the problem.
- Alpaca - rounding errors may cause two scrollbars to appear on the
right hand side, try resizing the firefox window and/or just use the
leftmost (inner) scrollbar.
- Block pages for webfilter and spyware are the basic format, with no
stylesheet or unblock buttons. The page is served through the
pipeline rather than being hosted on the Untangle server.
- When connecting from the internal network to the external address
of a server which is redirected by the gateway back to a server also
on the internal network ICMP messages will not get through.
- Connection attempts to non-existent hosts with addresses directly
on the untangle-gateway's external network will time out with out
getting ICMP-host-unreachable
- Alpaca - Advanced menu shifts over when hovering the mouse over it,
click carefully.
- AD integration does not work (will be fixed in next build)
- Kaspersky is not available through the library officially (yet)
Have fun!

You mention that the 5.1 Dev build is available publicly, but I can't download the ISO. The address in the above message comes up 404.
Is there a different dev build available? I'm quite anxious to get 5.1 running (in any capacity) because I have a client who needs to use outgoing PPTP VPN connections.
I understand that this build is not stable, but if the outgoing PPTP VPN connections work, I'd be willing to use an unfinished product, at least for now.
buggs1a,
A clarification from my earlier posting. There is not a single full list of features in 5.1, but if you go to http://bugzilla.untangle.com and do an advanced search for version 5.1, you can read on everything about fixed bugs and included enhancements, though this list is still not complete. Sorry for not mentioning that the first time.
