I'm sure someone out there is doing this. My main interest in Untangle is the ability to filter SPAM and the quarantine it offers. I've played around with the interface on a test machine but have not yet been successful in my set up. The site already has a firewall that has port forwards on it. I am not a networking person at all though I have been doing SMB support for a decent amount of time. If someone has a good link on how to accomplish this, I would be very thankful.

just install it as a bridge on a machine with 2 Nics, give it an IP on your email server's subnet (like your email server + 1) and install it right in front of your email machine.
let us know how it goes!

Thanks for the info - that's what I needed. I did run into a performance issue though.
I have UT running on a AMD XP2400 w/1GB RAM. The site I have it filtering on has 10 users. UT is reporting 15,000+ hits on the RBL's a day and they were seeing significant delays in email delivery (smtp to an SBS server - hours delay). I backed off of some of the filtering I had running (left overs from testing web filtering) but it still was an issue. I suspect the box I have UT running on is overwhelmed by the traffic but unfortunately don't know where to look to find that out.
