Anybody know why I would not be able to access AOL web mail through the Untangle box set in bridge mode? I have not customized anything on the Untangle box yet as far as blocking or unblocking types of traffic.

I am also having trouble accessing ADP's website, but it may be the same thing affecting both.

The event log files for all modules show nothing out of the ordinary.

It probably has a lot to do with Spyware Blocker. Shut it off and try it again. The only way they can target their advertising is to "pay special attention" to their users.

I have tried turning off every module one at a time and it still does not work. I know that it is some part of the Untangle system because as the Untangle box is booting up, just after the NICs initialize, the communications work for ADP and AOL webmail, Then, after the modules start loading, the communication breaks.

Another interesting tidbit is that I just installed another UT box last week at a different office and they can access AOL webmail just fine.

I guess I'll have to break out the old packet sniffer and see if I can find some wierd traffic.

I know this sounds crazy, but check the nic card order/interfaces/cables.

If you have it reverse it could show this problem.

I was just gonna say that...

I had tried switching cables thinking that I had the internal and external interfaces backwards, but it was still happening.

I figured out that the problem was a conflict of some sort with the DLink DIR-330 VPN Router that I had as the edge router. I replaced the DLink with the Untangle box as the router and everything works perfectly now. Stupid DLink.

I was able to figure this out first by trying it behind another brand of router in a different office and it worked perfectly fine in bridged mode.
