Getting to porn through the webfilter seems pretty easy. There are lists of porn sites that can be uploaded but I havent found how to get more than one url at a time. Is there an import option for the block list?

Untangle does not currently offer one, but I remember that Silver Bullet came up with something in the past. You might search the forums for one of his posts on the subject.

Additionally you can submit missing sites using the web filter submit tool on the front page of the forums. Help us help you!

yeah but that only allows you to block one by one....i have a list of proxy sites i want to block and to do it one by one will take sooooo long. i was hoping, like dmorris, that you could block a huge group in one go...e.g. creating a list within a txt file and being able to import directly from the untangle web filter interface.

I think a great feature request would be to allow both bulk import and bulk export of sites for the blocklists. At one client where we've had Untangle running about 6 months, they have added sites manually on an almost daily basis as they see people going to proxy sites and other sites that aren't currently caught. It would be great to export this list to save or to import on another box. It would also allow people to export and submit to Untangle if they have many sites that have been manually added to their block lists.

I too would like to see the ability to import bulk IP Block Lists, into either the Firewall, or Content Filter. Being able to make use of Block List from either Peer Guardian, or BlueTack.co.uk would be invaluable, as an additional layer of protection.

Here is a relevant event:
Revision3 (an IPTV style media company) was DDOS because of an incident with their legitimate distribution model (a BitTorrent server).

I too, am considering creating content (video training), and being that BitTorrent is legal, and the most cost effective distribution model, for this type of startup. The company responsible for this mess is none other than Media Defender. I would like to be able to keep this from happening to me.

Update: As I was having a smoke, and thinking about this more, I realized that this type of functionality should be added specifically to the Firewall. So that Untangle could block/ignore/drop any and all communications with IP's in those block lists.
