IPS/Snort Rules

I am assuming the Intrusion Prevention package is using Snort. How often are the rules updated? or is there a way to set it up to download them more frequent?

Untangle pushes out definition updates as they are released and after they pass QA testing I believe. So, if you have auto updates turned on, then you should be up to date.

Silver, how many signatures is deployed actualy? Recentily i did a fresh install of untangle 5.3 and his report today:

Total signatures availabe: 2467
Total Signatyres logging: 2046
Total Signatures blocking 1062

this numbers are updated?

I also have 2467 rules on 5.4.2.

Whats really puzzling is that there are over 11,000 snort rules, yet untangle only has 2,467? seems to me like we're not fully being protected here!!!
