Boots fine, comes up with Graphical please wait screen. Then stops. Tried turning ACPI off in the BIOS and ON make no difference. ISO fine, checksum fine etc.
How do I turn off ACPI as a kernel option or does anyone have any ideas ?
Cheers

The linux kernel will take -noacpi and -noapm to turn those toys off. The installer runs on Knoppix which I find to be more annoying to get to work than the actual UT.
sparticle,
You didn't say how long you waited. Its a slow startup, so maybe it was OK and maybe not. What is your hardware setup?

I am having the same problem. I can boot fine from the CD, but the "Please wait..." screen is as far as it goes. I waited for about 5 minutes after the optical drive stopped working.
Hardware makeup is AMD X2 4800+, 2GB Dual Ch DDR2, SATA II HDD, SATA DVD.
