I'm having an issue much like the one MoreDakka mentioned in another post. The filter is working on some sites but missing other obvious sites. It does get porn.com and partypoker.com but misses playboy.com and partypoker.net.

I've even added playboy.com to the blocked domains list and it still allows it.

Is there a delay time in something added manually taking effect?

what version are you running? Config tab and setup info will provide you this info. I would like to recreate this. I am running 5.0.2-1 and it is instantaneous if I add a custom block URL on the webfilter module.

I'm running 5.0.2-1 and it seems to be working fine this morning. Playboy.com is blocked with or without it being selected in the blocked domains, and when I added partypoker.net it blocked it immediately. It should probably be noted somewhere (unless I overlooked where it already is) that the filters take a while to update when first installed, and new entries to the custom block list don't appear to work will the filter is updating.

What you noted is on my wiki update list, which should happen within the next few days. Thanks for the reminder!

Obviously, more coffee was necessary before typing...I had already updated the wiki with this issue. It came up a few weeks ago (with the same web sites mentioned). Here's the link:

Thanks for the link. I did overlook the wiki.

On another note, even if you view a site then add it to the blocked list you shouldn't be able to get to another page within that site, and I was able to. I figured it might have been because it was cached by my browser so I clicked a link to another page within the site and it came right up. So unless this is the "confusion" you mentioned, it should be noted that there may be a delay to URL blocks if the filter is still updating after being installed.

adm: the web filter new settings only applies to new network connections.

So if you connect to a server, then block it manually your browser still has the connection open and will be allowed to browse the site I believe. However no new connections to this site will be allowed.

That explains it, thanks.
