I posted a reply to another post asking this, but then realized that it was in the Networking queue, so I am posting over here in the Virus queue to see...

Is the virus scanner in Untangle able to scan files within a ZIP file? I have received a couple of viruses this way, the latest being a ecard.exe that was in a ZIP file and UT passed it on through. My local antivirus picked it up though.

Thanks

Ron

We use Clam AV and if you pay for it Kaspersky Anti-Virus both are configured to scan zip files. Try downloading clamav and scanning it with that. If it doesn't find it submit the file to them. You can send viruses to clamav at:

http://cgi.clamav.net/sendvirus.cgi

We test a handful of zip files with viruses before every release, but obviously this doesn't mean clam av covers every virus, just that the signature database is functioning properly.
