Hello,
Under the "action if virus detected" column, I cannot find the "block message" option for POP and IMAP as stated in the wiki. Is this option for SMTP only?
I am using 5.3.0~svn20080624r16905release5.3-1sarge
Thanks.

from the FAQ:
Why is blocking (or quarantining) of detected spam/phishing emails not always an option?
Internet standards dictate that only SMTP email can be blocked, and can therefore be quarantined. POP and IMAP must be delivered to the user, so Untangle cannot block or quarantine them. These mails are delivered to user mailboxes.
So really it boils down to the fact that the Untangle devs are trying to play by the rules.

Yes, if you "blocked" an e-mail message being scanned in either a pop3 or imap process, the client would hang indefinitely and time out. Then try to download the message again. So this option is simply not available, the client HAS to recieve the message.
If you want to block spam before it hits the mailbox you must scan the SMTP session on the way into the mail server responsible. If you have a hosted mail solution, this option isn't available to you. Your hosting provider needs to perform this work.
