This maybe the wrong place to post, it's my first post so please forgive me.

I've AD work fine at a charity school for staff. Our students (and guest teachers) have a number of different machines OSīs (XP home normally) which need controlled internet access. We can't and don't want to add these machines to our AD structure. We also have dynamic IPīs and don't want to go down the static addresses route.

I am happy to setup a general student and 'guest' account on AD to limit access based on time.

So my question is there a way to have Untangle point users to a login screen when trying to access the internet where users could login and this information be past to Untangle's and used in it's policies? A bit like what you get at public wifi at airports etc.

One way I thought of doing this was to just copy an edited version of the generated AD script to each machine with custom values, and have it run on boot. I was just thinking a login type of screen would save the hassle of doing this on each machine.

I'm sure that this must be a common type of request? I just can't find anything on the forums.

Regards
