Hi,

I'm hoping that someone can help figure out if it's even possible to disable the sending out of the daily digests?? Also we don't want to create distributions to have the quarantines managed.

If it isn't possible to disable the feature perhap consider adding who the intended recipent is on the daily reports

ie column below

Actions From "To" Score Subject Date Size (KB)

at least for us it would make it a heck of alot quicker to sift through thousands of spams a day

The reason that the Quarantine Digests are set up is because its always possible for a legitimate email to be a "false positive" and end up being labeled as spam. If that email was the $10,000,000 contract you had been waiting for, you'd be pretty upset.

That said, check CONFIG -> EMAIL -> QUARANTINE -> QUARANTINABLE ADDRESSES. If it is set to *, every email address is quarantined. If you have people that do want the opportunity to look at spam that was destined for them and make their own decision, put in their specific email address. They will receive a digest for their own email address and theirs alone.

In the DAILY REPORT, go to the SPAM BLOCKER SUMMARY to see who is getting the most spam. Go to SPAM INCIDENTS to see who the sender and recipient are on a item by item basis.

In your SPAM BLOCKER, you may want to turn on TARPIT for incoming SMTP messages. If the spammer has to wait forever to get their acknowledgement before they move on, they'll be moving pretty slowly. They have to send millions to make it worthwhile, so you can do your part to put them out of business!

Hope this helps.

In the Daily Quarantine Digest or the Daily Report? Its in the Daily Report now (to = Msg receiver). The Daily Quarantine Digest is received by each email address that is setup as a QUARANTINABLE ADDRESS. If * is used (as I mentioned earlier), each person will get one, but joe@xyz.com will only get a report for spams received for joe@xyz.com. tom@xyz.com will only get a report for spams received for tom@xyz.com. That means that the report itself is the "To" column unless it represents a distribution list.

If joe and tom are both on a distribution list for sales@xyz.com, they will each get a report for their own email address as well as one for sales@xyz.com UNLESS someone has set up sales@xyz.com as a DISTRIBUTION LIST ADDRESS that goes to whoever has been defined as the corresponding SEND TO ADDRESS.

You can shortcircuit the whole quarantine part by either listing only those people who want one as a QUARANTINABLE ADDRESS, or leaving it blank. Then you'll probably wonder where all your disk space went.

I also have another idea but it could be a lot of work depending on how many email addresses you have in play. See if the suggestions so far are of value, and if not, we can go into the other solution.

My customer does not want anyone to receive these Spam digests. How can I simply turn OFF this emailed report feature?

charlieohearn,

Sorry nobody has gotten back to you yet. Shut off quarantine and no more quarantine digests will go out to anyone.
