Remote access not able to print to vpn client local printer

Hi,

I have created a openvpn client for a remote user.

I am able to connect to the openvpn and run remote desktop fine.

But when it print from remote desktop to the remote local printer, i could see the printing job in the printer but it just stuck there and the printer is not printing everything the it says error printing.

what could be the problem.

If anyone has a solution please do update me.

Hi Sky if you are there,

I am using OpenVPN, all the printer driver install correctly in the sense same driver version and name with the server, the problem when i print from remote to local i got this message from the vpn client "remote desktop redirested printer doc error printing".

Is there a solution to it ?

Show how specifically are you printing? Are you trying to print a local document to the printer attached to the remote workstation or are you trying to print something from the remote workstation to your local printer?

Also, please note, that Microsoft has some pretty stringent requirements regarding terminal services printing and if you are not following those, chances are, it just may or may not work for you.

Yeah this has nothing to do with OpenVPN. You're using remote desktop. If that printer isn't a laser... forget it. USB printers are a hit and miss... and you can just give up if it's an HP officejet. (ok that isn't true I know how to make them work but it's a PITA)

I am actually printing from the remote desktop to my local printer. I got my printer installation done on the remote desktop and it is also able to sent through my local printer properties as you can see on my previous post.

Is just that it is not printing and there is error but i am not sure what is that error printing all about.
