Hi, I've been trying to install Untangle 5.0.2 but with no success, the computer boots from the cd and it loads, then the first screen with Untangle logo shows and the legend "Please Wait" but that's it. It just wont go from there. I looked at the dos screen and it stops at the following line:

input: ImPS/2 Logitech wheel Mouse as /class/input/input1

I tried changing mouse but same result. Could you help me out?

Thanks! :)

The fix is to install more ram. Need 512 or else no go.

This is my third post and all three have been the exact same words ;)

I agreed! Definitely check your hardware requirements. I was stuck at RAMDISK part for a while. Went through 3 discs, hours of the "Please wait" screen, and tried a different CDROM drive. Problem disappears as soon as I added more RAM to the system.

I got that problem on two different computers. One with 196MB of RAM and one with 512MB of RAM. I don't think I have the chips on hand to increase the one with 512MB.

pacovj ... Welcome to the forums. Tell us what kind of hardware (CPU speed, memory, disk, NIC card makes/models.

monahancj ... Welcome to you too! 196MB definitely won't cut it. 512MB might, depending on the traffic going through it...that's definitely bottom end of the performance spectrum.
