Hi All,

Just got a new system, duo core intel, WD1600aajs Western Digital 160 SATA, 1 GB ram, GB Nic on board, dlink GB nic addin, ASUS P5K-VM MB. Off the shelf hardware!
Which shelf do i need to look at? last year's?

I can install Centos 5 no problem but 5.02 just drops out to knoppix???

Can you recommend current hardware we can use so i can source and build boxes to run this? When is the newer kernel coming????
I have it running at 2 clients but needed to go with older hardware to get it working.

well i wish i could help you with your problem/rant but all i can do is add to it, im ready to purchase multiple of the largest license professional packages for educational use because i love the firewall but i cant justify doing it until the support for high end hardware comes out, i cant even install on my power edge 2950s or even older 2850s because of unsupported megaraid which is a very common raid system. even if i could install it i doubt it would make very good use of all 8 cores and 16gigs of ram, currently im running the vmware ontop of server 03 enterprise and it seems stable for like 100 computers but i cant justify putting it in full production using vmware. i cant wait for the new kernel and hopefully added hardware support. good luck

hi.
next release is early next year. porting it to a different distro is also on the roadmap.

OK so what current hardware can we use?
Do you have a list of MB, Drive controllers, NICs, Video that we can build systems from?
Is there a way we can add controllers?
