I have Untangle running on a HP BL30P blade which is an IDE interface, works great. trying to get Untangle on a BL20p which is SCSI raid controller - Compaq 5i integrated controller. When the installation gets to the pick disk screen there is no disk. I rebuilt the raid before trying to load Untangle, so it is clean. Using Raid 0+1 with a pair of 73Gb. Machine is not the problem, been running etch on it with Oracle.

Any suggestions?

Welcome to the forums! If you do a search on SCSI or RAID in the Hardware forum, I don't think you'll find anyone who has had success with either yet. Untangle is using an older (but stable) kernel, and was really designed to run on relatively simple hardware. We will be moving to a new kernel early next year, which will offer added hardware support. Whether your disk subsystem will be supported remains to be seen.

Thanks for the reply. The only issue is the BL30 uses a SFF drive, basically a Laptop HDD. Makes me a little shaky running production on that. Will be getting some BL35's in that has SATA and SAS but most likely the same problem, new controler.

Again, thanks.

If you have the chance to investigate before committing to purchase of anything, ask questions in the forum with make/model number of hardware as well as doing searches. Corporate customers will typically want to use enterprise-class hardware more often than garden variety, so their experiences will likely be valuable to you.

One test I did and worked great was booting Untangle off a SAN via i-scsi.

So, at the end, my Untangle server is RAID.

Did not think that would work either, will give it a try tomorrow. May try boot to SAN, as well, if the Qlogic FC drivers ane in Untangle.

Thanks.........
