    Default Bandwidth Quotas

    Hi

Id like share my PPPoe ADSL connection with other people in my building. By Placing Untangle between my ADSL Modem (configured to Bridge Mode) and a WIFI Access Point. (To which others in my building can connect once I provide them with a WIFI key and or place their MAC address into my Access Point.

We do not (currently) have a monthly quota (from our ISP) so I would like to purchase bandwidth, for example 10-20 gigs at a time, and them "allocate" / sell the bandwidth on to them as they require it. (this will allow me to upgrade my ADSL line from its current 384kbps speed to the fastest available here; 10MBPS.

I have spent the last few days experimenting with:

IPCOPs Traffic Control and Reports (TCAR) addon, (only to read on one forum that it only records incoming not outgoing traffic).

Smoothwall; (couldn’t find anything that would do the above there, (maybe I missed it).

Untangle; - lite version doesn’t come with the Bandwidth Manager that looks like it might to the job and the paid for version that does include it seems very expensive. (for me at the moment)

PFsense; based on people I spoke n the forums it didn’t seem like it would work for my purposes, though one person did suggested a RADIUS Server which while really interesting looks WAY more complicated to setup and configure than what my current skills can tackle. Another person suggested a FON Modem.

None of the above allows (unless I missed it) a way to allocated bandwidth and then CAP users when they use up their allocated quotas. IPCOP seems like it might work though it seems a little out of date.

Is it possible to achieve the above with the lite / free version of Untangle?

Any suggestions would be really appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    Default

bandwidth control will work for the quota, once they use up there qouta it will then drop to a less of a priority that other traffic on the network,

as far as pricing for the net untangle will not handle billing for the untangle bandwidth
