Default Does Captive Portal only block port 80 and friends?

I want to check something on how captive portal works. If I turn on captive portal, does it stop all traffic from clients until they pass through the captive page, or does it only watch port 80 and maybe also 443? I want to make sure users won't get past this just by connecting to a proxy on a different port.

    Default

It blocks all non-bypassed traffic by default

(It redirects DNS to itself so that they can get resolution so they'll see the captive page)
