Default Captive portal blocking FTP access

I have an installation of untangle and its working fine. However when captive portal is turned on , no ftp sites can be accessed, even after authentication.

    Any ideas guys ?

    Cheers

It's not captive portal. Captive portal is either blocking an IP or it's not. There is no other logic there.

Once an IP has been authenticated, it is no longer blocked by the captive portal.

Im with you on the logic, but this is as blatant as:-

Try to download from ftp site... times out. Log in to untangle, turn off captive portal and download starts. Turn it back on and it fails, its 100% captive portal or a dependant service.

I have no authentication on , just the tick box to log in.

Any more suggestions welcome, but i tried every other service in turn as they are more common and obvious and not a hint of an issue in that area.

    Cheers

My suggestion is that you use tools like tcpdump to see what is actually going on.

who is 'captive' ? the server or the client? where is the server? how is CP configured?

if you are capturing the ftp server and using ACTIVE instead of PASV I guess you could see this behavior.
