    Default Blocked Sessions

We recently started using Captive Portal for all wireless traffic in a high school. It has been not even been 2 full days yet and it says its already blocked 33000 sessions. What exactly is it blocking? and how it is that high ???

It blocks all sessions from IPs that aren't authenticated/logged in.

Is 33k high? I would guess it would get that high on most sites fairly quickly.

Considering I've seen a single Win7 box generate 100+ sessions just booting... that number seems rather low to me too.

For comparison, my office network consists of five client PCs, and a VM server with 6 VMs in it. My Untangle processed a bit more than 48k sessions yesterday.

So if I can generate 50k sessions with 12 PCs, what can you generate at a high school over two days?

so this is blocking anyone with a wireless device that is trying to access the internet without being authenticated? it just seems high for 354 students and not even running for 2 days.. could this be caused by phones picking up the wifi but not beable to use it?
