    Default Radius Accounting Updates

    Hey Guys,

I wasn't really sure where to post this one, but captive portal seemed like a good place since it is related to the functionality I'm seeking.

Would it be possible to get untangle to send Accounting Updates back to the RADIUS server with the traffic usage updates.
This behaviour allows the RADIUS server to record usage for each users and let the NAS (Untangle) know if a specific user has reached its transfer limit and needs to be disconnected.

It is implemented in PFSense and many other platforms, and it would be a great asset for Untangle expanding its presence among ISPs and WISPs.

    Please let me know.

    Cheers,

    Anyone?

Untangle devs? I've scoured the forum and found at least 4 more posts of people looking for similar functionality and answers that go in directions that have nothing to do with what they're actually talking about. It would be cool to at least get a position from the devs to know if they can add it to the RADIUS authentication module.

It can't really be that hard, considering that you already track bandwidth usage per user (host).

And it is something people are willing to pay for, considering that they have to pay to use RADIUS to begin with.

    Please let us know.

    Cheers,

Nothing is ever really that hard, it's just a matter of doing it. Finding the time to do it is the challenge.

In any case, file a feature request at bugzilla.untangle.com and campaign for people to vote on it.

    Hey Guys,

Okay, I've opened the enhancement request on bugzilla.
    Here it is:
    http://bugzilla.untangle.com/show_bug.cgi?id=9749

Please vote as this one is pretty simple and would make Untangle the platform of choice for WISPs and ISPs all over.

    Cheers,

    Carlos
