Can anyone help me better understand the Directory Connector module? I will be installing MS Small Business Server this weekend. SBS seems to be happiest providing its own DHCP, DNS, internal services etc... I'm looking to find the best edge solution to work with SBS. I am using Untangle now, but I am also running win 2008 Server & Forefront TMG in a virtual machine. If cost were taken out of the equation, I'm wondering which product combination will perform best?
I am not the most gifted technical mind. Ease of management is a priority. I do have assistance for initial installation. What leaves me unclear is what edge changes SBS may require as I turn on services. Things like being able to access my files remotely, the outlook web client, routing ddns properly. |

Firstly i would say read over:
http://wiki.untangle.com/index.php/Directory_Connector to access files and outlook it would just involve doing port forwards to those services assuming UT is in router mode to your servers behind UT. i use DNS/DHCP on my Active Directory /DC servers behind UT and DHCP.
