I was wondering if someone could tell me how granular website control is via Directory Connector and eSoft. For instance, I need to allow employees access to Facebook but I don't want them to access third party apps. Is this possible with Untangle?
Thanks in advance. |

To the first question, you can use directory connector + policy manager to setup different web filtering policies by user or group.
To the second question, I'm not sure about blocking certain apps.

Thank you.
Yes, I mean apps on Facebook. I don't want employees going to "Farmville" or any other "-ville" for that matter yet, as mentioned, I do need them to have access to Facebook. I am thinking about purchasing the "Education Standard Package" (we are a non-profit), but I want to have a realistic and clear understanding of what to expect. |

I'm not sure about blocking facebook apps.
If they have a specific URL like facebook.com/app/farmville then you can block that, but I'm not sure about the inner workings of facebook.
