Yep, here we are, read all the other posts about having the same problem we are having. Really liking Untangle so far but we need the AD connector working. Policies just kinda need it.
So far we have followed the directions and the test works, the users display, if we run the AD login script manually it works just fine and users are displayed in the reports. Getting the AD login script to work on login is another story. We are running XP Pro everywhere except IT, we are testing 7 Pro. We do use Desktop Authority and have tried every trick we can think of, and has been posted, with no luck. We tried not using DA at all and it still did not work. We tried the proper settings in GP, we tried the batch file to run the AD login script, we tried using DA to launch the script as well. Just for the heck of it. We get the endless login where the system doesn't time out and doesn't login, it just sits. I left my desktop for over 10 minutes and it required a hard power off to recover each time. The script is so simple, I have a hard time believing we can't get this to work, but here we are, stumped. Any thoughts? DAve |

You need to set your scripts to run asynchronously as the login script never terminates.
If that has been changed, then it probably has something to do with Desktop Authority overriding it. I don't really know what that is, but since it's different, I'd look there. I'd suggest using the captive portal to identify users instead of the login script.
