    Default USB NIC support??

I have two mini ITX machines that would be perfect for untangle but the lack of a second nic, with no way to add one to either machine other than by USB, make the machines useless with untangle dedicated.

Have you looked at the beta of 7.1? Supposed to support a single NIC install.

Do keep in mind if you are looking forward to the single NIC install that supposed to be coming with 7.1. It is still re-router just like U4W and that means that certain rules must be obeyed for it to work.

Plus to answer the original question, just get a two port Intel server NIC. Problem solved.

No slot on the motherboards on either machine to add in any NICs. I bought them both for other purposes originally but I was thinking they would make great untangle boxes. I'll have to look into 7.1.

Atom processors, I know, I know!

Intel chipsets, I think they're both 945 northbridge.

Well, well, well. Guess what is supported in version 7.1 beta?

    USB NIC!!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

I am currently setting up 7.1 with apps, they're downloading right now. My setup sees two nics, the onboard I have configured as my internal, the USB is my external, easy to remember that way.

I can not tell you how happy I am! I am going to get my mini ITX/intel atom machine all setup to be my router using my external USB NIC. My other mini itx machine will be setup and deployed at my sister's house. This opens up a whole new market of hardware to the untangle world.
