Nope, but when your low cost laptop has an issue, are they going to spend one on one time with you figuring out what went wrong and checking to see if it's under warranty or not, then help you to get the RMA? Hmmm, I don't think so.
Oh man don't get me started on quality issues for retail crap machines. Out here in Phoenix things are even worse than most places. Standard PC equipment from all the major manufacturers are designed to operate at 72-74 degrees. The coldest ANYONE will be here in the summer is 76... so quite literally everything is slowly cooking itself to death while it's operating. Me? I just build with upgraded cooling and the box lives forever. And we haven't even gotten into the electrical issues we have thanks to the climate and weather...

People still look at me funny when I tell them Sony is the only company that builds a laptop that will survive the heat out here...

Now, here's the fun part in regards to my original post... The people that are contacting me and getting all irate? They are almost always my competition... they may be based in different areas around the country... but they are other small support shops that don't seem to have a clue. It's one thing to get an irate retail client... but something else entirely to have people "in the industry" going ape.

    Dear Rob,

Please help me get my ColecoVision to connect to the internets, so I may frag my friends playing Hogan's Alley and Duck Hunt. Ever since Untangle was installed, my stringy floppy drives no longer work.

    TIA... :-P

All support on these forums is unofficial. All untangle employees that post here do so on their own free time, that's why we don't make a big deal about who is and isn't an employee.
