    Default Browser Manegament and statistics

    Hi

Is it possible to implement Browser Headers in the Reports or even block some browser requests to the internet, like IE ?

And also, can Browser Headers be overwritten by the UT Box while surfing?

    thanks

    I dont know
But maybe with protocol control and some investigate job with wireshark (or another sniffer) you can do it.

Why would you want to block IE from getting online? That would destroy your ability to automatically update Microsoft boxes, among other things.

And, I don't care how you slice it. Firefox, Safari, Chrome, or IE. All four major browsers have had roughly the same number of vulnerabilities over time. Everyone just likes to whine about Microsoft. Why?

    sky-knight, thanks for your feedback

well, my ms boxes they can do updates without IE, but i understand that not all versions of ms can do the same.
why everyone likes to whine about ms?.. maybe because they make a huge amount of money with commercial OS's and Office Software which are not better and mostly even more difficult and very expensive to maintain in Security matters than a Freeware or Open Source Product.
In my point of view, firewolf its more reliable and interesting to people like me than the other popular ones, but i guess, all have to be protected behind firewalls and Content filtering Gateways or addons, and even then i am aware of the true point in the " not 100% Secure " phrase.
I have the UT Server not a long time yet, so i try to learn about it, to find out what i can and cannot filter out through the Modules , and in what Direction the Dev goes to meet the challenges of the Future, so thats the reason for my question .

Well, user agent based filtration isn't an impossibility. But the current design revolves around an IP level control.

Improvements to read user agents / machine names / user names would advance the web filter into an engine that could be IP independent and filter on those criteria. Which would in turn allow the Untangle to filter differently per user on a multi-user system. This stuff is very possible, just not easy. I'd assume this line of thinking is on the road map, but who knows how far down the road it is.

As for me? Untangle at the gateway + Eset AV on the desktop = Virtually Virus Free networks.
