Default Thank you for a great year

Hi Untangle folks,

Just wanted to let you know of our experiences.

We now have Untangle deployed at about 50 sites around the UK.

Each connects to a central UT server via openVPN.

We have some legacy IPsec boxes (Sonicwall, firebox and netgear) so great to see this app was finally launched. We have implemented it and it is working and very stable.

You have a fantastic product which we take full advantage of and our customers love the filtering products.

Great to see you continually improving and maintaining it.

So thank you for what you have done in 2011 and I look forward to many more Untangle installs in 2012.

Chris

50 might be the most OpenVPN tunnels i've heard of on one device.
glad to hear you like the product and thanks for the kind words!

Cool. Glad to see someone getting use out of it.
I know shops like yours have been asking for it forever so we're excited to have finally added it this year.

Luckily, we've seen that the support headaches associated with it is not as bad as we thought it might be.

Just counted, 46 openVPN tunnels, 26 IPsec tunnels. All into the one box.

I think your implementation is excellent, hiding most of the nasty stuff. It just seems to accept connections from any box as long as the fundamentals are correct. Pleasingly, they all appear to stay up. There is quite a mixed bunch too, some quite old, others newer, different brands etc.

You clearly spent some time on it. Good to send some cash your way too at last for all the hard work!

You don't need big iron for this. The biggest hit to CPU is when its bringing the tunnels up after a new client is added but it handles it all easily.

Its a Dell R210 with 4GB RAM. It only uses about 2GB. Processor is dual core G6950.

Its also running some of the filters as its the gateway for our mail server and a few other things.
