Default 7.3.1 - Changing rules disconnects all users

In the new version, changing any rule disconnects all the current connections... is there a problem with my box or a new normal behavior?

I haven't seen this in my 7.3.1 box. What rules are you changing that causes this?

Firewall ones, this box has 115 rules and I update them continuously. It started to disconnect users after update from 7.3

Hmmm....just tried this and I can't seem to reproduce. My connection doesn't miss a beat. Bridged or router? What does the load average look like on the box? How many users and what hardware (especially NICs)?

Router, ~0.3 average load, like 600 PCs (1/4 of them with inet access).

4 NICs: 1 integrated, 2 PCI and one USB stick (3 are WAN w/ load balance), sorry, don't remember brand/model of each NIC

I'm running in bridged here at home and it's bridged at work but I still can't manage to reproduce. You are trying to alter an existing rule or create a new one? If you run a ping to Untangle and one to an Internet site (say google.com) do both drop out when you change a rule?

Is that what the load average looks like when you change a rule?

Sorry for all the questions, just trying to get a better handle on what's going on.

No problem... I just open firewall settings and press OK, that drops all connections. On ping CMD windows you can't notice, but I've Outlook connected to a hosted exchange, so it disconnects exactly when I press OK.

The load does not change with it because it occurs too fast.

That's really odd.... Unfortunately I don't have setup where I can recreate that, so I apologize. My UT box is a 6 year old Dell that's been hit with lightning at least once and is running is bridged mode. I also don't have a hosted Exchange account to try.

If I had to take a shot in the dark, and this is a long shot, some part of the Untangle VM is restarted during this save that causes the drop out. Maybe Dirk or jcoffin can shed some light here. I just don't have a lab to set up and test things like this.

It's OK, thank you for your help, I got 7.2 so I'll reinstall and restore a backup.

Hope this can be a problem only with my upgrade so no other users experience this.

    Mmmm.
You need install 7.2, edit the sources and remark, install app, disable automatic upgrade, and then rollback the sources.
There is a post in the forum with the procedure, search it
