Ok so, I am very new to ntop. I got it all installed and running. Was in the middle of playing around with it. Then Life got in the way and I put ntop of the back burner. That was about a month ago. I guess it started to slowly eat away at my memory. It is only a 40GB drive in my Untangle box. Well now a month later it is 100% used according to df command. So Untangle web interface is down, Ntop web interface is down. I have tried to restart ntop from a terminal. But it can't even start that. I have shutdown rebooted untangle, but it is still at 100% used up.
So where does Ntop store it's data. so I can delete it and clear it out? Thanks |

Ouch...
This is why I bought a Dell R610... 1 TB of HD space, I basically never fill er up, lol. Honestly dude, at this point, I think your best bet is going to be a reinstall... did you have it backed up? Also, can you access the terminal from the physical untangle box, that opens up some options. Andy

Your best option is to not run hacks that are known to cause this sort of issue. nTop does bad things to Untangle, it's best not to install it.
To fix it, there is a way to search through the filesystem and find the folders that are eating the room. But I can't remember the command for the life of me.

I think I have a backup around here somewhere. I remember I made one before I installed ntop. But I would like leave that as a last resort. Yes I should be able to access the terminal on the physical box, just need to dig out a old LCD screen. But I thought SSH terminal could do everything a physical terminal could do. Would uninstalling ntop clear out everything? |

SSH can do everything the local terminal can, there is no difference. Other than one requiring the box to boot enough for a service to start.

I tried to uninstall ntop and it seam to have done the trick, it is still working at it but so far it has gone from 100% to 90% usage and still falling!!. But I still can't access untangle web interface, I tired /etc/init.d/apache2 start but it failed. Hopefully it will just require a reboot. I will try that after ntop has finished uninstalling.

If nTop's DB was the culprit it will take some time to remove all that stuff. I wouldn't suggest rebooting.
When the uninstall is done, just try this /etc/init.d/untangle-vm restart
