How update with SQUEEZE kernel?

Hi,

After uptade with squeeze kernel version 2.6.32-5-amd64, server report unavailable. Any clue? I can't login in the box, but other modules working fine.

Cool, would you mind sending us the kernel patches you ported to the new kernel?

Untangle, is based on debian. It is not debian. These instructions may upgrade the underlying operating system, but they do nothing to deal with the customizations in the kernel Untangle requires to function.

In short, all you're doing is giving the devs a healthy laugh at your expense. If you're ok with this, please continue. Heck if you're brave enough to figure out all the backports and modifications required let the devs know. I'm sure they'd love to roll the next version of Untangle on a nice updated kernel with vastly improved hardware support.

I think its a cool experiment. He's obviously done it already, and the only thing that doesn't work is reports. We could benefit allot from the updated kernel, IMHO. Not that it will add functionality, but it enables us to continue work on other things we've been waiting on, such as the wap module that worked back in v6. We've been waiting on the kernel to get more recent so we can use mad-wifi's newer atheos drivers and such. Besides, a little ground work to at least demonstrate that its possible helps the devs a little bit I would imagine.

minor details...

All joking aside, it would help if you port the patches to complie cleanly. Even if it doesn't work it gives us a data point and a starting point to get it working in the newer kernel.
