you should have one thing on a UT box, UT, once you start adding things, your asking for trouble, as soon as you do an upgrade for untangle, kiss any custom stuff you did good bye.
Would you install LDAP or something else on a sonicwall server? or Juniper? or PFSense....

I'm mainly a MS Windows shop - Actually,..UT is the only alternate OS here that I support. I find that UT is straight forward and easy to use. I rarely have need or even the desire to use the terminal interface or ssh to the terminal root... Why would I? the UT GUI deals with all aspects of the system.
Windows should be so user friendly. |

You need ssh only for very rare occasions when you need to install a patch. And if your selling support on the boxes like you're supposed to you don't ever have to do that! Make a phone call, send an e-mail attach a UID and tick a box... let UT deal with it.
