    kazuo,
I agree that IPv6 support should have bin a higher priority.
But looking at the big picture Untangle is far from alone and that is the SAD SAD truth.

Most right now have "IPv6 Support" but often it is just addressing the unit and basic route.

When we did sets of hardwares with IPv6 support we even got units that there support where that they could block IPv6. So IPv6 Support is just a so weak description.

But hell as soon as Untangle have IPv6 Support and if they can fix the UTM part as well quite quick i think they could walk in to the segment and take a huge part of it.

That and you can bet your bottom dollar that when Untangle finally puts the IPv6 stamp on it, it'll actually mean full support. All modules can read and understand the addressing scheme, and the UVM does what you're used to with v4, just with v6.

I haven't seen anything "support" v6 yet, nothing more than addressing and basic routing. I've seen a basic port matching fire wall, but no full blown UTM, Sonicwall included.

SonicWALL has become, if the following products are supporting IPv6.
    (NSA E8500, NSA E7500, NSA E6500, NSA E5500 NSA 4500, NSA 3500, NSA 2400, NSA 240)
    What is not supporting IPv6?
    Please let me know concretely.

Incidentally, I am not the persons involved in SonicWALL.

I know first hand the current software on an NSA 2400 can pass and route v6, but the web filter doesn't have v6 addresses in the filter.

So again, the router does support the protocol, but the UTM features don't support it. I don't know how to be more clear than that. If that has changed in the last few months, then I'm wrong. But the last time I looked at the single Sonicwall I had in service, it didn't really support v6.

    Thank you for teaching.
I saw this press release and thought that it corresponded to IPv6.
It seems that the fact is different.

sonicwall firmware and nsa firewall platforms certified for ipv6

I have no doubt they are certified to work with the v6 protocol. Just understand there is a drastic difference in routing / bridging the protocol, and having fully functional UTM features to secure the protocol.

I'm sure the features are maturing all the time. At some point it'll be where it needs to be. I just highly doubt that it's where it needs to be today. And I'm sure a good portion of this stuff is shrouded in marketing double speech.
