I was trying to see if we could have squid assigned to the DMZ and force LAn traffic through the filter to get to the squid, but I have not heard from anyone on whether this is possible or not. For now, I no longer use squid until it works.

You can ignore those and install it anyway.

I see the logs from IMspector, but not in Alpaca, did I missed something?

The original poster in another thread was Silver-Bullet. He was able to get things into Alpaca but stopped working on the scripts due to other issues and time.

Hopefully we can get his contribution again and try and get these scripts into the system a little cleaner than they are and get the proxy to work with filtering.

Sorry for delay.

I have been out for a while!!.

Ntop stops cause it does not support fine the untangle server, so you need to use monit to restart ntop as many times as it falls, after a while it will start working fine.

We can not make anything about.

I have installed ntop on three UT machines now and it has never stopped running yet. However, these have not been very busy machines. That is until next week when the 1700 kids get to school.

Then I will watch and see how it runs.

i am not seeding any stats for eth1 (LAN adapter) - see attached images. It is in the config for ntop. I see everything for eth0 (smtp, http, ftp, etc) but no lan devices. This is important because it will tell me who and what type of services they are accessing.

Here is my /var/lib/ntop/init.cfg
Code:
USER="ntop"
INTERFACES="eth0,eth0:0,eth0:1,eth0:2,eth0:3,eth1"
"eth0,eth0:0,eth0:1,eth0:2,eth0:3" = each has a static ip for specific servers.

eth1 = LAN

also IMSPECtOR will not start at all. I followed all the directions two or three times.

i also had to change permissions for ntop to create rrd files and the graphs

I am also in need of a memory upgrade:
Code:
             total used free shared buffers cached
Mem:          1003        988         15          0         38        124
-/+ buffers/cache:        825        178
Swap:         1906         21       1884
