    Has anyone gotten a thin client to work? Looking to setup a (Aopen - Solutions 91.ADE01.I240 DE2700 GMA950+ICH7M N270 ( system will have 2Gig RAM and 120- HD prob solid state external USB CD Drive...

    Even hinting around about using Realtek NICs on this forum is approximately like yelling fire in a crowded theater. My personal experience mirrors those of the more adamant folks, i.e. they don't work. That said, the rest of the discussion is largely moot, though there are other reasons why this might not be the best choice..... depending.

    It will work, it just won't go any faster than 20mbit. If you're willing to live with that limitation, to be honest there are less expensive options that work better. The n270 is really old now.

    and its frickin expensive ($328 as per amazon http://www.amazon.com/DE2700-GMA950-.../dp/B002WV5DAW) for a single core old last gen atom processor.

    Lets take a journey..... I usually don't divulge this kind of info btw, but im in a surprisingly good mood given the fact that my pens lost game 7 last night.

    The only thing I dont like about that case is that the pci expansion slot is proprietary. You have to buy some super micro part to use it, it does not come with the case its self.

    its 12$ for the part, Might even be cheaper now that they are all pci-e no more 33mhz pci
