    Default Proliant DL360 G5

I'm installing Untangle on a HP Proliant DL380 G5 with 2 GB RAM and 4 72 GB SAS drives configured in a hardware raid 5

I am not using the ISO install, instead I'll be using the install on Ubuntu desktop 8.04 Hardy. I would have posted the link except I have to have 5 posts before I can give you a URL. Look for that a little deeper in this thread.

I'll post my progress and problems here, and time permitting create an install guide.

    Default

    How did this go?
Installing on top of a existing Ubuntu (or Debian ) OS, has cause other people many headaches, and is unsupported by Untangle.
Have you tried the 6.1 beta on this hardware? Untangle are interested in testing the Hardware support for this new version (its based on Debian Lenny)

    Default Scrapped

Well, because of the lack of support on this type of install, and the fact that I have so many other more pressing issues, I have had to scrap this install. Anyone wanting to try this install type can goto the wiki for an article on how to deal with the raid controller, which was easy, however I cannot have a firewall for my organization run in a potentialy unsupported mode.

Note to untangle: Please think about either bundling some of the higher end raid controllers into your ISO or supporting us getting this up and running on enterprise hardware.

I know you guys/gals are flooded with work, but a cool project would be to put the drivers for enterprise servers on a site and give paid users the opportunity to build an ISO, sort of the way slax.org allows a user to build a custom ISO.
