Hi Everyone,
I have the feeling that we are doing somehting wrong. It seems as thought the way applications are installed is different in this new version. We were using 6.1, and already gave up on trying to upgrade as it seems is not possible. The problem is that once UT finishes the base installation and is time to install apps (opensource package) all I see is a "my account" button. I followed the wizard, created an account, attempted to get the opensource package but nothing happens. So I decided to do apt-cache search opensource, and then an apt-get install. But this doesn't seem right. Also, when I do an apt-get update I get an error stating that there's a version mismatch (dart instead of stable.)... I tried looking at the wiki, the section on installation, but couldn't find anything that dealt with the problems I am having... Comments are greatly appreciated. eric. |

the version mismatch error is normal.
does the connectivity test succeed? what happens if you run 'apt-get install untangle-libitem-webfilter'

The installation completes without any problems. I am also able to install the entire opensource package that way. UT is running in router mode. But then when I plug it into the network everything gets horribly slow. My banwidth monitor showed that we were using only a third of our bandwidth. I first turned off all the apps (spam, web and protocol filters and firewall), but it didn't seem to help so then I decided to stop the untangle service and things improved a bit only for a few minutes. So right now the machine is off the network and I would like to make sure I am installing everything correctly ...

We had been trying to get UT to run for the last three days. At this point we:
- Would like to go back to our previous healthy running version (6.2) and restore our backups but we can not. - Can not go back to 6.2 because every time we start the management interface, it forces us to upgrade to v7. - Version 7 hangs even when is only doing routing and the untangle service is stop. Have been wrestling with this for the last three days i am going to put this issue to rest for now. Don't know where else to look... |
