Looking at it there are 4 repositories in it and all 4 are commented out.

That's because the real repositories aren't configured in sources.list.

Fascinating... well I wasn't going to point out that file. But since Dirk has, and some interest in it has popped up. I just wanted to point out that people need to be VERY careful with that file.

The APT repositories use authentication based on keys present inside that file. If you muck them up your box won't be able to get updates. Don't ever mess with untangle.list... it's just a bad idea.

ok did that and installed fine but when I try to 'apt-get update' I get the same result:

    Reading package lists... Done
W: Conflicting distribution: h**p://updates.untangle.com stable Release (expected stable but got silverado)
W: You may want to run apt-get update to correct these problems

Still won't let me install the lite package, either. says:

    An error has occurred:
    com.untangle.uvm.toolbox.MackageInstallException:
    com.untangle.uvm.toolbox.MackageException: ut-apt predictInstall exited with: 1

This is not the problem. This is totally normal.

The problem is further up in /var/log/uvm/apt.log.

Something is stuck on your box, I'm going to guess and say it's a corrupted package in your apt cache. But the error will be in that log file.

    What does "apt-get install" output?
