Default error while downloading free apps -web filter

    Hi,

I am a novice, installed untangle on a P4- 1GB ram - 80 Gb HDD. After the first boot, it allowed me to select the free apps. The downloading starts, but an error is displayed as below:

    An error has occurred:
    com.untangle.uvm.toolbox.MackageInstallException:
    com.untangle.uvm.toolbox.MackageException: ut-apt predictInstall exited with: 1
    ---
the downloading bar runs in all the apps. it went on for full day, but not installed and nothing is in the rack.
    Please help..

sounds like the box doesn't have proper internet settings. Do a connectivity test from config->networking.

While I'm pretty sure, I can't guarantee that I know what I'm doing. There might be a better way to do this, and this way might actually suck. Make sure you understand the implications of what you're doing before trying to follow these directions.

It often helps troubleshooting if you have a good network map. Look here if you want my advice on how to draw one.

Also try individually installing the apps it the connection test works, I have had this happen on a few installs and indiviually installing is the only way to get it to work.

This happened to me, too. It looks like I've worked around it by simply choosing the lite packaged from the Apps sidebar.

I'm having the same problem. Ran connectivity test:

    Testing DNS... OK
    Testing TCP Connectivity ... OK
    Sat Aug 21 22:29:14 CDT 2010 - Test Successful

Since I can't cut n paste (it's in a VM) I'll just skip to the main part.

    Reading package lists... Done
W: Conflicting distribution: h**p://updates.untangle.com stable Release (expected stable but got silverado)
W: You may want to run apt-get update to correct these problems

    Any ideas?

    damn you guys are quick!

sorry I didn't make that clear. The output I posted was the result of running 'apt-get update'
