Default High Disk Usage after 9.1

Since upgrading to 9.1, it seems like my hard drive is almost always flashing or sometimes pegged. This seems different than 9.0. Is there something that would be causing my disk to crunch all the time in 9.1? I have 4GB of ram, less than 1MB used for swap, so nothing should be paging. When I hoover on the disk usage it shows Write 65 MB, 15520 b/sec and Read 0.27MB, 55 b/sec - Is this normal?

You mean the disk access light?

How recently did you upgrade?
If you just upgraded then its probably just the 9.1 database changes happening in the background.
More info here:
http://wiki.untangle.com/index.php/9...uming_postgres

If you upgraded several days ago, its probably something else and not normal.
Send your UID to support@untangle.com and I'll take a look. (If you're a free user thats fine, just send it anyway)

I upgraded last week. Yes I meant my HD activity light, sorry. It seems like the patch on the wiki fixed it. My hard drive was heading off the cliff, filling up. As soon as I ran the patch, the activity settled from pegged bright light, to a blip every 5-10 seconds like it use to be. I also gained back a lot of space. Thanks for the quick reply.

Are you talking about that patch ?
http://wiki.untangle.com/index.php/9...tabase_cleanup

I have untangle 9.02 (not 9.1) for few months. Yesterday the disk started filling up like you described. From time to time, cpu usage gets abnormally high and after that few gigs of free disk space vanishes. Restart and turning reports of and on did not helped

I don't know if I can safely apply patch mentioned for UT 9.1 on UT 9.02 ?

I will appreciate any help.

Przemek,

Do NOT apply any patch on another rls then it is made for.

If you are having problems start your own thread where you give us as much info as you can.

Thank you for the prompt response and advise.

You are right, After little investigation it came out that I have whole different story. It is the issue with huge nodes.log and note-4.log files (above 20 gigs each).

There was some post on this:
-http://forums.untangle.com/feedback/...-since-v9.html
-http://forums.untangle.com/installat...d-80-free.html

Afters I will try to dig deeper into this I will let know about the results (hopefully tomorrow) in this one:
