Default Untangle 9.1.1 Reports / Postgres causes high CPU usage

Good afternoon everyone,

I've been troubleshooting this issue for the past couple days due to some noticed network slowdown.

I have discovered that the only way to get CPU usage down below 4 (Quad core Xeon) is to remove the Reports app.

Previously, the HDD would just take a constant thrashing from the system and running a 'top' command from the console showed that postgres was in state 'D' with like 70% CPU usage.

Restarting postgres temporarily alleviated the problem, but it came back after a minute or two.

Also, the event logs of any page would fail to load, and usually caused the CPU load to increase by about 2 (Highest I saw was about 6.8 over 5 minute period).

As soon as I uninstall (Remove) the Reports app, CPU usage goes way down. When I add it, and go to an event log, it jumps back from (0.4 CPU to about 2.0 over 5 minutes).

Also when I go to the http//IPofUT/Reports it loads okay, but it's an old report from October, and it has 16 reports from September through October 2011.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

I've done some additional testing (over weekend) and uninstalled the Reports application.

Usage history without Reports is hanging out around 0.25 even on busy days.

When I turn it back on, after 5 minutes it bumps back up to 3.00 or more. It still looks like there is an issue with Postgres even after uninstalling. I want to login and clear the reports database, but what's going to prevent the database from becoming unmanageable again?

Ryankisss,

Please start your own thread instead of going around saying that you have the same issue.
