    Default Time Drift

    Hello,
I seem to be having an issue where the time of my untangle box is drifting. By that I mean if I go into the web console and sync time, it aligns to the proper time, with proper offset based on timezone selection.

However if I don't periodically do this, I find the time off, leading to policies not properly applying.

I'm running 9.2.1 in a VM, however my host time is correct. How/what can I troubleshoot within Untangle to try and resolve this issue?

    Thanks,
    Tim

    Hi tsull360,

    Have you check't
Under “Options”->“VMware Tools” make sure to check the “Synchronize guest time with host” and click "OK"
    Read more under the:

And make sure that the ESXi/ESX server has the right NTP settings and time zone.

Also, make sure your Untangle has functional DNS settings.

    Big Frickin Disclaimer:
While I'm pretty sure, I can't guarantee that I know what I'm doing. There might be a better way to do this, and this way might actually suck. Make sure you understand the implications of what you're doing before trying to follow these directions.

It often helps troubleshooting if you have a good network map. Look here if you want my advice on how to draw one.
