Default How to Install on Debian?

    Hi,

Sorry if this question is rather simple, but in the Product Overview page for Untagle, says te following:

    Supported Platforms

Untangle runs as a bare-metal install, on Windows XP, VMware, Ubuntu & Debian

But when clicking on Ubuntu & Debian I get to a blank wiki page (that is, no info at all).

Does anyone know how to install Untangle (not as a "bare-metal install") on Debian/Ubuntu?
That is... I'd rather feel more secure installing Debian Etch or Lenny on a PC and then installing Untangle on it... (that is after all my impression, but I'm open to suggestions).

If you are new to UT I suggest you stick with the ISO. The manual installation you are referring to is meant for development and not production. It requires an advanced knowledge of the UT product and the linux platform itself to keep in operation.

The latest Untangle beta ISO is Lenny-based. The ISO installation is really quite simple. The biggest issues seem to be around NIC support and the Lenny version seems to have resolved a number of those too.

    Good luck

Ok guys... thank you very much for your time in answering my doubt.

MiniPilote, thanks for the tip on the beta release, I'll give it a try (not on a production environment), as I have seen the post for the beta announcement on Feb. 27 this year, so I guess I'll test it and report if have any issues.

dmorris and sky-knight, I'll take your advice for my production environment, currently not a large network (14 computers + printer + network drive), but stability comes first.

Looking forward for 6.1 to become a stable release...
