Untangle 6.1 VMware resolution FIX

Hi,
If you like me have a old 6.01 VMware host that have bin updated to 6.1 and have some screen resolution error it can be resolv by editing the vmx file. (untangle_601_vmware.vmx)

Add this at the bottom.

For 1024x768:

Code:

svga.autodetect = "FALSE"
svga.maxWidth = "1024"
svga.maxHeight = "768"
svga.vramSize = "134217728"

For 1280x1024

Code:

svga.autodetect = "FALSE"
svga.maxWidth = "1280"
svga.maxHeight = "1024"
svga.vramSize = "134217728"

Note do this you need to power off the unit.

Now i can upgrade to 6.1 which support SIP better.

yes, this should be sticky'd. However, they may have it fixed when they bring out the vmware appliance for 6.1.

thanks for the fix WebFooL, that huge screen was a pain in the a$$!

This is fixed in 6.2 (default resolution of 1024x768 on the 1st boot, then configurable by the user through a button in the taskbar).
