Update IDS this system
How do we know a new signature to exploit or other attack ?
Does this system Update ? some subscribe , or need update manual?

"Untangle continues to maintain the default signature settings through automatic updates. You are free to modify and add signatures, however it is not required."
The above is noted in the Status page under the Intrusion Prevention system. I am actually surprised it does not tell you the last update there, and unfortunately I don't know of any other place where it will show a "Last automatic update that was successful"
One thing you can look at is things like the Spam Blocker. Open of the settings and at the bottom it will say when it last updated.

The ids is based in L7 filter, and is not more supported, it is a shame because it is an excellent product. No more signatures was released from time ago

To the developers of Untangle:
Maybe is time to turn to snort or same, or whit the new dangers we need to be an expert in capture traffic, edit them and create signatures :-)
Ahh, thanks for that info dwasserman. Too bad. Probably should change the verbiage on the IDS Settings page.
